Overhead light wont turn off

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I arrived at school and I locked my keys in my car. After I get out of class, a maintenance man helps me to unlock the car. He used some sort of contraption to make space for hook type thing to get through and unlock the door. It unlocks, which was great, but now the overhead light will not turn off. Do I take out the fuse??

Take out the fuse to keep the battery from discharging. It is possible that using a slim-jim on the lock damaged the switch that controls the dome light. This makes the system think the door is open all the time and the light stays on. I will do some more research on this issue and get back to you.
Instead of pulling the fuse, you can remove the bulb(s). Go to the link for a possible fix.....http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forums/v6- tech/242573-2002-mustang-dome-light-says.html
I was not able to open up the link, but I removed the bulb. What would be my next action from here?
