how much should a front end repair cost

Not difficult for the average DIY'er with basic tools. Depends on what it wrong. But if you have to get into changing ball joints,, might as well go the entire route and do the brakes, struts and other suspension and steering components while it is all apart. Check on line at a place like autozone where you can price out all the parts. If you bring it to a shop, you're probably looking at a grand or so just in labor you can save by DIYing.
