When you go into anti theft mode from changing a battery can you reprogram the original key if there seems to be no damage?

Anti- Theft light blinking fast and engine won't start. locksmith tried to reprogram key, since i only have one, but it still does the same thing. Any way to over ride or bypass this system altoghte...
