I have a 2003 explorer xlt that won't go in reverse. Should I buy a rebuilt transmission or could it be something else? Can I have the current tranny rebuilt to fix the reverse issue? Thanks

it's to costly for the year of the car to have someone rebuild it ,unfortunatly that,s what it needs, reverse has a lock,up pin and it's probably broke,to get to it the entire tranny has to come apart, there about 600-800.for a good runner, labor nomore than 250.00,there not hard to take out so do'nt get ripped off.GOOD LUCK!

Thanks for the advice. I may just go buy the rebuilt transmission.
