What should the tachometer read when at an Idle, in my 2004 Tahoe?

my truck seems too have a slower than usual Idle . It seems
to want to die out if i don't give it a little peddle

if you have etc/electronic throttle control, any applicable trouble codes? clean throttle bore and around throttle plate, see if it helps? Don't force throttle plate. the description is for p0506 code.
