It ran perfect then every once in awhile when I try to gun it has a huge delay.
Yesterday It was driving great and out of no where as I'm driving up hill it stauls
out like it is running out of gas and dies. Is it automatically the fuel pump. I
took it to auto zone and no codes showed

Fuel filter first, has it ever been tuned? If not now's the time.
Replacing spark plugs and wires or boots and cleaning fuel injectors if needed, Keep in mind no codes doesn't mean no problems, for example your car may have a throttle position sensor that has gone bad in range so the computer wouldn't know it was bad, you need a scanner that shows data stream to test it. Also is the engine running at the proper temp, if it's running cold it will act this way and is caused by a bad thermostat, I hope this helps you
I was driving down the highway two days ago and noticed the lack of acceleration when i pressed the gas and in that moment the check engine light appeared so veered over to the shoulder and before I got to the shoulder the light had went back off and the car went back to normal. After doing a little of my own research how likely could it be my catalytic converter. I also recall a funny smell that made me look around
Great clue. That smell was the converter doing its job, it was reacting to an overfueling condittion, so let's go back to the tune-up question, either the lgnition failed to fire the fuel mixture or the injection system pushed to much fuel, the ignition part starts with spark plugs, the injection problem could be a fuel pressure regulator allowing fuel pressure to go high the fuel pump in your car can pump up to about 120lbs pressure. I would start with a tune up then see what happens.
My tahoe hasn 't had any problem restarting matter of fact its great for the first mile or so heck it will even go 13 or 20 miles no problems then out of no where it acts like it isnt getting gas and sometimes it will just do it for a split second and go back to normal or it will bring me to a hault and sputter and die. Ill wait a second and so far it has started back up for me! I say all this bc I dont understand what the ignition has to do with anything once ive already started the car and am down the road
Mike when you say tune up from what you have heard me explain about my tahoe what all should the tune up intel... You will have to excuse me I am a struggling single mother who has missed a day and half of work bc of my vehicle issues... CAN YOU PLEASE HELP
The ignition is working all the time to ignite the air/fuel mixture however Your last post makes me seriously suspect the fuel pump because the ignition usually just flat out quits without a slow down or sputter. The only way to test for sure involves attaching a fuel pressure tester on the fuel rail and driving until the problem occurs but I think your bet is a new fuel pump.take care
