What's wrong with my 2004 Chevy Tahoe 5.3l

My fuel light went on, on my 2004 Tahoe I'm
parked it right after it turned on. The next
day or went to start it and it didn't want to
start. So I went and got a couple gallons of
gas, poured it into the tank. I try to start it
but still wouldn't start, so I put about another
4 gallons of gas thinking maybe it was still
too low so I stayed a little bit of starting fluid
to see if it would start but still nothing. What
could be the problem?

Vapor lock, gas cap. Fuel pump turn key listen for it priming should make sound each time you turn key to on not start..

Are u out of gas? Or is the light not working as intended! Could be both at the same time wow.
