I am unable to put fuel in my 04 Z71 Tahoe

Asked by 2004z71driver Oct 28, 2013 at 06:05 PM about the 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe Z71 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I can only put 1.5 to 2 gallons in at a
time.  The gas pump stops an the fill
tube is full.  I have to let it drain then I
can pump more.  I've checked the
breather tube and scoped the filler
tube and cannot find any obstruction

the vent valve solenoid may have been munched by road debris~ or the purge valve....check them both~

Thanks for the advice judge_roy. I replaced the canister and both valves. All is well at the pumps again!
