my truck does not run in any gears

my truck turns on but does not move when i have to put in in drive or reverse.

Check the transmission fluid if not that maybe your transmission....

Or it could be something simple like a shifter linkage broke or came loose.

my 2001 chevy Tahoe just recently started not moving in drive nor reverse can someone please help me I am a female that knows nothing about vehicles . someone please please explain what it could be and what I need to do
