rear brakes in a chevy tahoe 2001

Hello cjbarnes-- Well just because it was small doesn't mean it is unimportant. It sounds like you dropped one of the clips that secure the brake pads to the bracket. If you can't find the clip you dropped, you better go find another or you will get rattling from your finished brakes. Don't despair over this, however. Some clips are not meant to be reused and you would need to buy new ones anyway. A good place to find instructions for brake repair can be found at http://www.extremehowto.com/xh/article.asp?article_id=60246. Good luck from Bovan.

Bovan's right again. I NEVER take both sides apart at the same time, that way if you lose something or forget where it went you can look at the other side to see where it goes.
