2004 grand marquis gos to cold while at idle

my marquis temp gauge drops to cold when at idle but shows normal while
driving but drops back to cold when stopped at idle thanks in advance for any
help

If you had work done involving the cooling system I bet it wasn't refilled correctly. On these vehicles the cooling system must be refilled through the thermostat housing when they're drained for service or repair and if they're allowed to run extremely low on coolant. Hope that helps! Jim
