Did it not start before you replaced it? I had a 98 tl that had a bad contol, relay that is located under the dash, but still accesable from the under the driver brake pedal. 20 min fix, chances are the dealer will know exaxctly what ur talking about. However it was a problem that happend off and on. The engine would randomly shut off or randomly wouldn't start. I even tried solder worked for awhile but eventually relacee it
Yes the car was perfectly fine other than my leaky fuel pump....
Fuse is ok? Did u disconnect the battery before removal? Did u confirm the connection was fully seated and all the original gaskets on the connection where present? Does the fuel pump kick on when u turn the before u start it? The problem must be with something u changed. Do u smell gas?
Fuse is Ok, all connections are connected properly, it hear it turn on when I turn the ignition on and I do smell gas and did not disconnect battery prior to Uninstall
The only thing I can think of is u have low fuel pressure due to the leak. Where is the leak because you can smell gas. If u really cant tell turn the key on and off untill u see fuel leak. The fuel pump turns on momentarily to build pressure prior to start. Best regards.
It was on the upper half of the fuel pump unit.... it was leaking inside the car under the back seat....
How was the pump leaking inside the car? the pump is internally mounted in gas tank? And did you check the connection at fuel pump? need more info
Can I text you pictures
Have you resolved the problem cause I'm experiencing the same exact problem with my 03 Rsx type S. I haven't replaced my fuel pump but I'm about to . It's leaking from back seat and smells like gas
it turns on for a moment then turns right off, i just replaced the top portion of the fuel pump assembly. mind it turned on perfectly fine before replacing... I was only trying to fix the leaking from the top of the plastic mount on the fuel pump. assembly.
