Battery light came on last night when i started my car

Battery light came on when i started my car to
come home and stayed on all the way home. Could
my car die on me?

Yes, it could. Battery light is indicating low voltage. If the alternator is not charging or if the battery is not holding a charge or is broken internally the car will die when the battery runs out of juice. Does it make a belt squel noise ever? It's possible the belt is loose and not charging
