Is it possible to just buy and old car for the body/frame (i.e. grand wagoneer with wood panels) and just somehow attach it to a mid 90's Subaru Outback I already own? Sell me on doing it...

Possible? Yes. "Somehow" attach it? How can you do it "Safely"? You probably shouldn't attempt this from the sounds of it... Not to mention the subie will likely struggle to push such a heavy load around and the suspension probably won't like the weight. Sounds like a terrible idea. Why not just "fix" the wagoneer? I can't find an english version of it but watch this West Coast Customs swap for Gary Dourdan... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fkB5qY66NqM
Thanks Walth, I have a Subaru I don't need and was going to sell. I also have a Grand Wagoneer (my favorite car body) with a body in good shape but no engine so fixing it is really not a possibility. Obviously, I'm not going to get wreckless but if there is a way I'd have some people give me a hand with the work I'm not comfortable doing. Thanks for the video... I'll be sure to check it out.
If you're into fixing, get an engine that is readily available (that mounts to that trans), ecu and anything else you need and fab it up. I'm sure there's a wagoneer forum with plenty of writeups and maybe even some FS ads.
