Engine power reduced light/ traction off light is on/ service stabilisystem

Could be a firing problem or improper fuel flow. Do a fuel pressure test

I have a 2010 Enclave and this exact scenario just happened to me and I cannot get it to run anymore. Someone on another forum mentioned it probably needs the throttle body replaced. Did you find out what it was, and how much it was to repair it? Thank you.

I just bought a 2008 with 57,000 miles. This happened while at the dealership. They are trying to fix (at their cost) and have had it for 4 days so far. Did anyone figure out how to repair this issue?

This has happened to my car SEVERAL times-very scary. Turn car off & let it sit for a couple of minutes & re-start the car (reboots the computer). Usually works. Service Engine light stays on. Took it to dealership--they have NO IDEA! They want to put a "monitor" on my engine to see what happens. Anyone had any answers?

Mine has the same problem. It is a 2014. Only in the winter. The best solution is: buy another non GM car! As you can see in this and other forums, there is no solution from GM.

I have a 2010 took it to the dealer ended up it was my throttle body. GMC replaced the part and covered the labor. No money out of my pocket. I thought at first it was because I had just purchased the vehicle but the service manager said GM knows of the problem and they are covering the cost to fix the known issue. Oh my has not messed up one time since the fix four months ago.

Thanks I’m taking mine in tomorrow as I left the gas station my car started acting weird and then it read engine power reduced on the dash and was driving really slow and hesitating like it wanted to stop. I just got a brand new engine in April so this scared me‍♀️

I had this exact same thing happen to me. I replaced him the throttle body...it was very easy to do. It was 197.00 at autozone. I have not had any issue since. Its been 4 days.

In almost all cases it's the throttle body is dirty. Easier and safer to just replace it. You'll have a mechanic tell you it's the throttle position sensor code P0221.

Mine. Had the same problem. While I was in Mexico came back. And I replace the throttle body. About 3 weeks ago. But after a while started. Doing the same thing again. Any other. Sugegestions about this issue????

I have read the issues described on this page because I too got the same message. The only difference was when I got the engine powering down the car stopped running all together and I had to have it towed. When I got to the dealership; they said I needed to get the engine replaced! Despite regular maintenance and only 119, 288 mile on my 2012 Buick Enclave- I had to replace the motor! I have taken good care of the car; no option but to get it fixed.

We have a 2014 Buick enclave. Had this exact scenario happen. Started off as a shudder while driving about a year ago. Then it would kind of stall when trying to accelerate before kicking in.... Then the engine started doing it's whole thing about 4 months ago. (Engine light coming on, power reduced, traction control off) first time was in the freeway so that was super awesome! we've completely replaced the throttle body, (which fixed the problem for about 2 months) as well as the gasket, and replaced the fuse box panel, it just started doing it again.. so we are at a loss...

it's happen to me 10 times on my 2015 enclave.everytime i return to dealer no codes can be found.GM s office solution to this problem is to give me a 2000 dollar certificate towards buying another GM product. what a joke. when they operate like this no wonder they have to close plants.

My wifes 08 enclave she stated her trac/stability control warnings came on then car wouldn't move. She then shut it off and tried starting it right away and said it wouldn't start again. After I arrived 5 mins later, it started and drove perfectly fine. I have no idea where to begin, because it never happens to me while driving it. Any ideas on this?

Our 2011 enclave has done the same thing with the reduced engine power stability control warnings just like all the others on this forum. We had to replace the engine in April 2017 and started having the same problem in Septmeber 2019! After having the ECM replaced and $1250 later, 3 weeks later it was doing the same thing! The dealership doesn't know what the problem is and GM has denied all 3 of our claims for help. We have always been GM owners but not anymore. The car is unsafe to drive. We will be buying anything but GM cars from here out.

I am also having the same problems with my 2008 Buick Enclave. When accelerating from stop position I hear a clicking sound then my tachometer, speedometer, gas and temperature gauges all go to "0" then the vehicle goes into limp mode. I replaced the TCM (transmission control module) last month and I put a new throttle body on it today and I am still having the same problems. Can anyone tell me if I have an electrical issue or what is my problem.

My wife's car is doing this. My first thought was TPS then I read this. Lord help us all.

I ordered a TPS and it arrived today. Hopefully that will solve the problem once installed.

I just pulled out of a drive through onto a busy highway and almost got hot bc my car decided to die on me as soon as I pulled out. I had both of my kids with me. Any answers on what ot could be? I will NEVER buy GM again!!!!

I am very sorry to hear this. The TPS did NOT solve my problems! I finally took it to my local Buick/GMC dealership and they kept it for two days. I received a call back from the service rep and he sadly told me that "they are going to walk away from it because they could not find or diagnose the problems". I will be looking to purchase another vehicle and it will not be a GM.

I have a 2013 Encore that has done this three times, each time after the car sat idle for a few days. The engine light is already on (catalytic converter). After stopping and restart the car several times, it runs as though nothing ever happened. Car has almost 180k miles on it (brutal commute) but isn’t driven hard. Unfortunately, just don’t trust dealership service departments so may just go to a familiar mechanic. Anything new on this issue?

I have 2005 buik regal. Same problem. Reduced engine power. But I have NO loss of power. Its been happening for 3 summers now, never in winter. Took it to dealer3 times and 4 other mechanics. No can find the problem. Getting rid of this pce of junk.

Have the same issue with my 2010 Buick Enclave. Have had the problem for years. Purchased the car in 2014. I have discovered that if you disconnect the negative terminal from the battery and wait a minute then replace the terminal the car will start and run fine. I am thinking that the issue is with the cpu. By disconnecting the terminal it resets the computer. I too, would not by another GM product because they are not reliable and I feel GM does not care about customers or employees. They did pull out of Oshawa Ontario after be given millions of dollars from the Canadian Federal Government.

My wife's 2012 Enclave had the same issue, reduced power, stabilitrac warning, then finally died completely. The shuddering had been happening for about 2 years, and we got the run around from the dealer. Took it to an independent mechanic, and they had to replace both fuel pumps (high pressure and i side gas tank). So far, it runs good.

I had this problem on my 2014 Enclave. An independent mechanic told me it was voltage issues to the engine control systems - loose wiring terminal for the relay that powers up the engine control systems, causing a poor connection. He replaced the terminal and repaired the wiring. It has worked perfectly for six months.

2011 Enclave - 223000 kms. Stopped for red light engine would not respond to depression of accelerator and transmission would not engage. "Check engine" warning appeared. Rolled to road side removed battery cable for 1 minute. Reconnected cable, having reset microprocessor, the vehicle returned to normal and "check engine" light disappeared. Will have diagnostic tool to check codes if it happens again. Odd thing, fuel consumption improved during the one hour trip home. Will post if it happens again. Had similar problem with "Voyager " many years ago. Carry a cheap code reader in vehicle to reset processor so you don't have to remove battery cable.

Same problem with my 08 enclave. While cleaning the map sensor and throttle bottle. My air intake had alot of oil. Cleaned it out also while doing this I noticed a vacuum leak. Cleaned the throttle body and map sensor and replaced all the vacuum lines and installed a oil catch can kit to catch the oil from getting into the air intake. Been running perfect for over a year now.

Had the same issue with my 2013 Buick enclave, we didn’t know what was going on but after research thought it was the fuse box so we took the car to the mechanic he said it was the sensor then said it was the fuse box but after having my uncle who’s a mechanic look further into the fuse box the box had no corrosion it looked brand new the issue was the bolts holding the box to the connectors, manufacturer bolts are to short causing the vibration to loosen til the connectors arnt connected to the fuse box (junction box) we replaced the bolts with bolts about an inch longer added locking washers and some red bolt clue stuff and tightened the bolts but not to tight ! and everything on the car is running better it’s getting all the power it needs to operate, hopefully this is a permanent or atleast long term fix, hope this helps someone with the same issue ! if the fuse box isn’t corroded check the bolts !
