spare tire
where can i find a kit to fix a spare tire as iam done with bad experience on the runflat tires, i am switching to regular micthellins, so i need a spare
you want to fix it? can i assume it has a leak? take it to a garage or like town fair tire or something. it's not science.
I also have a 2006 Sienna Limited AWD with run flat tires. After replacing the run flats every 20,000 miles, I'm switching to regular tires. Toyota dealer says that they don't have a matching spare for the 17" run flat tires. I would have to buy a full size wheel and tire. I shopped around and got one at Tirerack.com, $99 for the rim and $95 for a tire. Once the spare arrives, I'll mount it to see how it fits and rides. Then, I'm going to replace my run flats with regular tires from a local tire shop. I'll just keep the spare tire in the rear compartment of the minivan. There's plenty of room. If I ever need all the cargo space, I can tie the spare to the roof.
buy the tires from Tire Rack as well you will save $$ and have great selection/advice. They will recommend where to get them mounted and even ship them to that shop
If your spare tire needs fixing,it needs to go out with the trash.Go to the wrecking yard close to you.Thier computer system,that tells them what is in thier inventory,has a crossover reference program.Ask them to look up the bolt pattern to your vehicle,match it exactly,and roll out thier door with a spare.Remember-NEVER-FIX-A-SPARETIRE!
1) get Viair 00088 88P Portable Air Compressor (Amazon: https://smile.amazon.com/Viair-00088-88P-Portable- Compressor/dp/B005ASY23I/ref=sr_1_1? s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1476896630&sr=1-1&keywords=viair) 2) Use this to inflate the flat tire, and then find the hole. 3) Get patch kit (ARB 10000010 Orange Speedy Seal Tire Repair Kit, Amazon) or similar from car store or Walmart 4) Glue and plug the hole. 5) replace tire if needed. If worn will need to replace all 4 (AWD issue). This strategy should solve most problems if your tires are good. Most flats are sharps and can be repaired. Old tires do worse things that you might need a spare for. The key is a GOOD PUMP! The cheap plastic pumps do not move enough air and you will never find the hole (happened to me!) The Viair is sturdy enough o fill a truck tire, and is all metal. A real pro tool, but very compact. Runs direct off the batter with alligator cable as it draws so much current. That should keep you OK. Good luck!
