Lincoln ls spins over but don't start

Bought a Lincoln and it slowly stopped
starting by take g longer and longer to
start...changed the fuel pump and it's getting
fuel pressure...but don't have the original key..
the guy gave me a ford key..even though ford
.makes Lincoln I think I supposed to have a
Lincoln key...and also the light on dash
blinks...and I didn't find out until I was doin
paperwork on car that they did and engine
swap...the original motor was the v8 and now
they have a v6 in it...so if anybody can help
please...i was told to bring it to dealership to
reprogram computer but kinda don't want to
do that...please if anybody has anything

Well it seems you have the anti-theft active, and whatever ECM is in it no longer recognizes whatever key it was programmed to match. You'll have to take it somewhere to have it programmed properly.

Or at a qualified locksmith. There won't be much cost difference at that point and at least the dealer is equipped to deal with the passlock system.

The thing is it was working...then it just started taking longer and longer start...so u think of I get a locksmith he might be able to fix it
