Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Two days ago van quit running. Engine turns but won't start. For a week and a half, it started normally, then one day after a 15 mile drive and a 30 rest stop, van would not start. After about an hour, it started with out any issues then started and ran fine for two days. The it will no longer start, it cranks but won't start.

May need a new fuel pump. Has any lights come on during driving that aren't normal (check engine, oil, coolant type lights)? Could be any other reason, as well, but had a '92 Sentra that did something similar... it'd run fine for a while, then crank but not kick over... replaced the fuel pump and ran fine. Could also be faulty ignition, plug wires, or any number of other things... check what you can of those items first (pull a plug out if need be, have a friend help, one cranks while other watches plug for spark, and replace anything easy like that first). If you must, pull the fuel line feed (delivers fuel from tank to engine, will have filter attached) and place it in a fuel can to test before dropping tank and doing the fuel pump.
Stuck open egr valve will also cause a crank no start issue. You need to identify what's missing. Are you getting spark at the spark plugs? Is it getting fuel? And then is it an air issue? This will help you figure out what's going on with it.
Take the air filter box off and spray some starting fluid in it.(not much) If it starts the fuel pump is bad.
