bought a BMW X5 that was smoking from exhaust and was down for 2 years. Cleaned the muffler after changing the Turbocharger but smoke still persisted. The smoke is now whitish and oil is escaping

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The oil is still escaping presumably through the exhaust as oil levels are dropping sharply What could the problem be. Could it be the valve cover gasket is bad. And the valve seals have to be replaced?

Why is my oil dip stick low after doing the required oil change of 8 qt. and have a whitish discharge from the exhaust and there are no leaks, so why am I losing so much oil to the point I can't read the dip stick & explain the smoke discharge?
