2005 Hyundai Sante Fe 3.5, POOR MILEAGE

Asked by rosco804 Dec 21, 2011 at 09:52 AM about the 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS AWD

Question type: General

I know this has been discussed before, but I just took a 2005 Hyundai Sante Fe 3.5 4WD off of my mother in law, as she was getting a new vehicle.  Its now December 2011, and the vehicle only has 65,00km`s on it, as she used it to putt around town... but the gas mileage is BRUTAL to say the least... Any suggestions... I have checked the tire pressure... anything else

It's a 4x4 SUV, don't expect too great of gas mileage. To get what you can out of it, make sure the oil and filter and the air filter get changed regularly, and drive conservatively.

We have a 2005 Santa Fe and just got 24.4 miles per gallon , freeway driving. Was pretty happy with this unit. It has 96000, miles on it and have it taken care of by dealer. So all maintenance is up to par.
