what are the lights in the rear bumper of 04 santa fe for

They are there simply as reflectors. I have never seen any that had wiring or bulbs in them, although I do believe they could be wired up to work as tail lights or brake lights.
I believe in Europe they are used as taillights and rear fog lights. They are pre-cut for 1157 bulb sockets. I am in the process of researching how they are wired.
My 2001 and 2011 only have the lenses and housings, no wiring or bulb holes.
My 2005 has an outer hole with the notches to fit an 1157 bulb socket, but there is a plug just beyond that. I have read elsewhere that people have used a Dremel tool to cut out those plugs. http://www.hyundai-forums.com/do-yourself/72444-santa-fe-bumper-lights.html In that post they suggest using GM 3157 bulb sockets, but they have the wrong alignment tabs, plus the vehicle already uses 1157 bulbs. I plan on trying this, and have just purchased the sockets from Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00T2SJIIQ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A26XZY1DGLFZZH Still debating on whether or not to use a trailer wiring adapter and have extra turn signals as well.
I have an 01 hyundai with the rear tail lights in the bumper that seem like they are for show, but I wired, put new sockets and bulbs in,and now they work with my break lights.

I'm my 08 Santa Fe I have them, they're stock lights and the switch can be found to the right of the steering wheel, beside my 4WD Lock button, not too sure how much of this car is stock now since nobody else knows what they are... My question is still what the heck are they called lol, photo is covering the plate but I'm still trying to find a bulb that will fit if anyone can point me in the right direction (New Zealand)
