The horn and radio will not work and it doesn’t seem to be a fuse problem?

Asked by Guru9WG4L6 Mar 12, 2021 at 11:19 AM about the 2005 Buick Century Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The horn and radio will not work. The
car belonged to my Uncle and was
gently used, low miles (60,000). It was
working fine until it sat for the past 2-
3 years without use. It doesn’t appear
to be a fuse problem. Any ideas?

Is the airbag light on? If so it's going to be the clock spring for the airbag system. Hope that helps! Jim

I’m not sure if the airbag light is on or not but I will definitely check it out when I go back this weekend. I hope that’s it. I will report back when I find out. Thanks!

Ok, sounds good. Yes, please keep us posted. Steering wheel controls such as the horn and radio controls are wired through the airbag clock spring. So if the clock spring needs replacing the airbag light will come on and the steering wheel controls will stop working. Jim
