How many miles do you have on the motor? I had an issue like that after i thought it could be the battery. Took it to the dealershipship and they gave me a brand motor under warranty. Mazda extended out the motor warranty to 100k now instead of 80k. Had it replaced 3 weeks ago. I had 80k on my old motor.

This sounds like your engine has low compression issues on a hot start. Check your apex seals and get a compression test done, 9 time out of 10 this is the problem. Other common things to check would be spark plugs, coil packs, leads then if no issue found try the starter motor and battery.
