'92 Acura legend

When it started getting cold enough
outside I would turn my heat on and it
would work for a few minutes then my
car would say it was overheating then
blow out cold air, then I would turn my
heat off and the heat gauge would go
back to normal. I rarely have heat only
if I am lucky. I just got my thermostat
changed and at first it was blowing
cold air, I revved it up and when I
stopped doing that then the heat
worked great so I was happy it was
working but then my heat gauge was
"overheating" slowly and the heat
slowly got cold. Is my car just junk?

Make sure the car has antifreeze and you do not have any leaks in the hoses I think you should get the system flushed to get rid of any blockage that may be causing this problem.

Your radiator may be bad but get the system checked by a trusted mechanic.

sounds like u could have air in the coolant system make sure it is full of antifreeze and start the vehicle heater on high and radiator cap off and watch for air bubbles . if it has air bubbles let it run and the system will "burp" and make sure u keep it full of antifreezewhile doing this. if this dont work you should take it in to a mechanic and have the system flushed
