2004 X3 -traction control light came on, after dead battery jumped

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I went to test drive this vehicle - liked it other than the traction control light.  After the vehicle was jumped, the dealer turned the wheel one way, then completely the other way. Light went out. Is this normal after low/no voltage, or symptomatic of a problem? Any particular problems in general with this model year? Need reliable low maintenance vehicle and the crap I have been buying isn't working for me. Figured I'd try a BMW..

Jim- it could really be a reason to pass? We've looked at a few others of the same vintage (can't afford newer model, and can't afford to throw money away either) and this one seemed to be the best of whats out there for right now. Michael - I will look at your link - thank you both! - Donna
