I would start by checking the neutral switch under dash connected to the brake peddle rod.It is a switch connected to the brake rod.Replace it.

this happened to me i had an ignition coil go out and a plastic piece broke off which would allow me to get out of park. i had to literally take the console off to reach reach the plastic spring to get it out of park. i had to do this for four days until i could get the mechanic to fix it. unfortunately it wasnt just a broken spring but i still spent less than$300 to get the coil and spring fixed. I had to replace the whole console
