If it has spark, check the fuel pressure at the fuel rail.

Check to see if it has jumped time. Belt or chain do not know right off the top of my head which one it has.
Has spark timing may be one of the issues that motor has a belt an it sounds like a fuel pump issue does the fuel pump primer circut run cycling key do you hear the pump start then stop after 3 seconds of cycling key check fuel pressure at service port

when was your last tune up. I had this problem on a chevy s10 and It needed a new cap and rotor. had spark, just not enough.
Saturn of that year has a crank sensor an a cam sensor an individual coil packs no rotor or cap . fuel most likely cause for no start if mil.lamp on an a red oil indicator it won't start need alot more diagnostics to determine cause
Ok rereading again it has fuel and spark and k that changes the program if it was out of time it will still sputter an back flash thru the throttle body ???
