Can I drive with oil sending unit out?

By meaning "out" can I guess your saying it is not functioning? Or have your removed it and now there is an open hole on the top of the reap part of your engine? If it is not working, you have oil (full) in the engine, it is fine to run it. I'd have it replaced or do it yourself or a friend as soon as possible. It will take a 1 1/16 deep socket to remove it. Cost of the sending unit will range for $19.00 to $35.00 depending on where and the quality of you purchase. I'd put a GM replacement part in if it were me.
