Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello,

I am new to this forum, glad I found you guys.  I bought brand new in 2007 the NBS (new body style) Silverado 1500 truck.

Last month it developed a whistling sound that I believe is coming from the windshield on the passenger side.  It starts at highway speeds of 55 to 60 to 65.  It whistle even changes pitch at times.  Once you get below 55, the noise goes away.

Took it back to the dealer.  They adjusted the doors, didn't work.  A friend drove me on the interstate last night and I have narrowed the sound down the passenger side of the windshield.

Going back to the dealer tomorrow, any suggestions as to where this sound is coming from?

Sounds as though they may have missed some of the sealant underneath the windshield when it was installed. A guy I work with has a 1998 Silverado that had a persistent water leak in the windshield. Finally the dealership called in a place that put the cabin in a vacuum-like device and found the leak. The windshield had not been properly caulked/sealed before it left the factory.
