No A/C fan - lines icing up....

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
My 2007 Ram 1500 A./C just decided to quit. It was working fine, then the blower fan would not work. The line from the dryer freezes up.... All fuses are good and there are no codes coming up..... The a/c light comes on when I press the snowflake button and the compressor turns....
Any ideas would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Karl

The reciver drier takes humidity out of the system if it isnt doing its job right it can let the system freeze,or u can check the cycling swicth, fir the blower check if there is power going to it through the conmection if their isnt look for damage on the wiring if is is it is the blower fan its self
Two Main causes of freeze up on your line, low freon, and a clogged orifice(freon inline filter). Dirt and tiny particles over time are meant to be caught by this filter before it gets to your compressor and causes damage. Unfortunately the system has to be opened by a professional with a machine to take care of this without causing more headache. Pressure readings from a Auto Parts gauge that comes with a can of R134A does not analyze what the contents are in the system, there could be to much air and not enough Gas(freon) in the system. Meaning the "little gauge" says you got enough, but not of what. Either way best to spend a few bucks and get diagnostics check from a trusted A/C facility.
eddy2000 is also correct. But if you open the system for any reason, it has to be evacuated down before it can be properly recharged.
Thanks guys! Would this also cause the blower fan to not work? It doesnt work for heat or anything.... Like I said, all fuses check good.
No. If blower is not working, that will cause system to freeze up. Sounds like you got a bad fan control switch or fan motor. You can hot wire the fan to the battery to check it. But switch may need to com out.
Thanks! When it quits raining I'll get out there and mess with it
I recharge my AC on 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 now my line on the high side is freezing up what can I do about it
Hi everyone! I got a problem on my 04 dodge ram 1500 SLT 5.7 hemi, okay so I had mechanic guy come and replace a temp sensor, he had to lift up the a/c compressor out the way, while he was doing that, I had to run inside to answer my phone not even 1min later I go back outside with my mechanic guy I've noticed a hissing sound coming out from the a/c line and I look there it was 3 straight down a line antifreeze was coming out of it, will effect my cooling system?
