Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2007 ram 1500 5.7 L hemi. It runs fine
when it's dry but when it rains the engine stalls.
Throttle control gone, and the electronic throttle
control light comes on I could use some advice.

scan for codes of course. sounds like there is a bad connection or rubbed wire somewhere. possibly water getting where is shouldn't in a fuse box or something. I am not sure why the wet would matter, but your gas pedal sensor could be bad. a code would tell you this. the water issue is the tell tale though. start by inspecting closely under the hood and under the vehicle for all wiring and connections.

Merry Christmas and thanks for your reply. I have scanned for codes and inspected the wires under the hood. Is it possible that water could be in the fuel tank or seeping in through a Crack in the fuel lines or fuel filter?

If it rains and it quits the problem is likely electrical in nature. It is very unlikely that water is getting into the fuel system. If it were mine I would disconnect the wire connector at the throttle body and look closely for corrosion and maybe put just a dab of di- electric grease in the connection. I would also do this at the throttle pedal connection. Issues like this can be a pain to diagnose.

I think Bob is right on, if there were water in the fuel the problem would be all the time, not just when its raining. Something electrical is getting wet. If you do unplug any connectors, spray them with electrical cleaner then use the dielectric grease.

same issue here. Rains will start missing run like crap. Trows codes that are random. shut off turn back on and its FINE! Iowa Truck need to move to DESERT! Have replaced a few of the coil packs and the crank sensor 2x. My local helper mechanic cant get it to give a definitive code. Ill start checking my wires. SO FRUSTRATING! 2008 - 207,000 miles.

Does anyone only these places ever really help and tell you what might be the problem??

I have a 2005 Dodge Ram 4.7. When it rains hard I get water in the tank while the truck is sitting. I can drive in heavy rain with no problem. I have drained the tank twice to reveal water in the tank both times.
