i have the problem with the check engine light, and i found a missing clamp in tank fill line,after fixing that i checked the canister and it seemed in good shape almost new, no cracks. after disconnecting the battery the went off but came on again and still have problem with acceleration.

you could take it to your garage and have them check codes but (in my opinion) that usually gives them a list of a million possibilities to start replacing parts - always expensive parts first. silly things can cause this warning - from gas cap to cat converter to ????? You say acceleration is what? sluggish,jerky ??? Maybe a fuller description of acceleration problem will help the readers try to help you out here.

i took my (2007 dodge ram 1500 5.7 hemi 4x4) to the garage and they said it is the gas evap .now i learned that could be a leak in some tube and i found it and fixed it, but still have the engine light on. about the acceleration,when the car goes under 60m and i step on the accelerator the engine seems like (powerless) or it is like chocking ,then i step down more the engine regain power again.
