I can start my 2000 Dakota go to work shut off truck and then wont restart for 10 minutes

Just in the last 2 days I drove to work 8 hrs. truck started drove for 10 minutes to go to a store came out about 20 minutes later not even the dome light would come on. Nothing works I try to turn key finally it decided to start.  Very discouraged when its like 10 degrees outside

I would check the battery, terminals and cables. When the weather gets extremly hot or cold it puts extra stress on the battery and even more so if the battery is several years old. Batteries usually last around 5 years before needing replacment.
