Ford Taurus x Sel 2008 hesitation in starting ...

Hello guys,
Need help and advise. My car sat outdoor in subzero weather while I was gone for 20 days. It was not subzero all
the time. At some point it got in the 40-ties. Now that I am back, that is what happens.
The car does not have difficulty in starting, but in the initial acceleration and switch from like 1-2 gears . Two light
poped out- engine and a bolt key/ driver?
Before I left car had no problems. From everything I read it may seem to be the moisture in the distributor cap
causing misfire?
Me and my car are in Russia currently. Not only I don't trust local mechanics. Everything costs here twice as much
as in US. Is it something I can try to handle myself?

although I cant help much on what is actually wrong with your car i can tell you it doesnt have a distributor. It has a coil on each cylinder. I would check and make sure you dont have water in the fuel.

My key broke away from the battery pack, now when I switch on everything lights up, but it won’t start. There is an icon of a padlock and half car flashing. Can anyone tell me what problem is?
