Question type: General

My mirror got ripped off during windshield replacement. Wire all broke off at
terminals . I have a blue/whit wire, a red/black, and a black. They were torn out
of spot 1,2, and 3 on connector. Can you help?

The installer can't help ? I'll say black is a ground , red black is hot , Just guessing . what functions does the mirror have ?

compass, outside temp, and auto dimming. All 3 wires are 20-22 gauge

The replacement mirror, which the windshield guy can pay for, should have the wiring and plug already attached. Just plug it into the wiring inside of the door. Now if you're saying the wiring harness inside of the door is damaged the windshield guy can pay to have that replaced too. As well as having the new mirror painted to match your vehicle. Maybe next time he'll be more careful!! Hope that helps! Jim

Hello James. I should have started off by saying I inherited this vehicle. The previous owner did not follow through on getting repaired. I do not know who original installer was. I'm trying to repair terminal plug myself. that being said, thank you

Ah, ok. That makes sense. I always get annoyed when a repair is made and in the process something else gets broken by the shop and they don't want to take responsibility. I'm glad that's not your situation, thanks for letting us know that. Thank you for the best answer click too! Glad I was able to help. I've had my 08 Grand Marquis for ten years now and it's been a great car. Good luck with yours. I'm sure you'll have many years of enjoyment from it! Jim
