Rough Idle/Vibration while driving

Asked by impalabrandon2 Oct 22, 2016 at 09:27 PM about the 2008 Chevrolet Impala 1LT FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi guys, so about 2 weeks I overheated my car
after my serpentine belt came off and went in the
ditch. Now I am noticing a rough idle and a
vibration when going down the road. All chassis
parts seem to be good yet but my power steering
pump has been squealing whenever I turn the
wheel too fast at slow speeds. Have done a
coolant flush and replaced belt. Thanks, Brandon

Ok .chk crankshaft pulley .make sure it's kot wobbling while runNing . Also make sure all pulleys are true .didn't get bent etc. If it isn't an engine vibration od focus on the wheel/tire on the side that took the impact of the ditch . Bent wheel , tie rod etc. Also chk to see if the wheel has spots where wheel weights were lost . As far as the power steering noise make sure belt is aligned o. Pulleys properly and that a line didn't get bent pinched damaged . Good luck

Check your catalytic converter. It may be clogged due to the engine overheating and might have melted your cat converter

Ok, heres something that you should check out or have checked out... The Radiator Support Brace.... they tend to come lose ,make noise, cause vibration. If your saying you went in a ditch then my assumption is that the Radiator Support Brace came loose..
