Why is my car making a loud knocking sound on the passenger side of the vechicle ?

Asked by JSkrillz25 Sep 27, 2012 at 05:47 AM about the 2008 Chevrolet Impala LTZ FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

It happens but is not limited to when I unlock the doors or I turn power
to on it only lasts about a minute or so. I also heard it happening when I
was just standing near the car without doing anything to it I didn't even
have the keys

I had my 2008 Impala with knocking noise assessed twice. Both times the mechanics said it is the fan from heating or cooling. The Chevy dealership told me $1300 to fix. The first guy said it is common in this car and the only posaible harm might be its use of battery after you turn off the engine.

Got the same problem,,,it is the motor/gear of the a/c-heater air box damper, either going from outside air to inside,or adjusting to left side right side delivery
