Nissan Altima 2005 Ignition Locked

Asked by Kendall0808 Jul 15, 2018 at 04:54 AM about the 2005 Nissan Altima 2.5 SL

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I go to stick my key in the ignition, it does not
turn what do ever. It's completely stuck in the
locked position. I've tried everything from jiggling
the steering wheel, to unplugging the ignition plug
from under/behind steering column to hopefully
reset whatever was wrong and still no luck. Please
help!

Try not jiggling the wheel but holding it in position to where there is free movement. You might have to have someone hold it for you, then try to turn the key.

Make sure it’s in park and try pressing the bake and wiggling/rock the steering wheel while turning the key. If that doesn’t work, you can also try taking it out of park and returning it back to Park then try the above again.
