Car keeps dying on me and can't find the problem!!!

Asked by Jacob May 06, 2021 at 04:38 AM about the 2008 INFINITI G37 Coupe RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I gotta 2008 G37 and well it keeps bringing up my
crankshaft sensor and camshaft sensors and I have
literally changed those 3 times now and my car still has
the same problem. I will be driving it and then all of the
sudden my voltage just drops from 14.5 to 11 and then my
battery and brake light comes on and then I lose my
throttle response and then my car just dies. Then it throws
the same exact codes at me which is my crankshaft
sensor and camshaft sensor. I have changed my battery
and my alternator and still has not fixed the problem
either. I don't know if it could be something simple of if it
is an electrical issue.
If you have any answers please tell me or contact me on

Is the voltage drop happening before or after the engine dies? It makes a big difference.

It happens before the engine dies. Will happen while I'm driving the cat and I lose voltage and my car starts to bog down and then it dies and always before it dies is when I lose my throttle response

I will take your word for it but I suspect it is a symptom, not the cause. Research how your charging system is regulated. If the ECU regulates the charge level it could be at fault. Normal voltage with a fully charged battery should be 12.5 (engine off) so make sure to test the alternator and the battery and make sure the battery connections are clean and tight.

So when the alternator is on it runs at about 12.5 to 14.2 but then all the sudden it will drop to 11.8 and go down from there. And no there is no rattling anywhere on the car
