Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello, My question is regarding my Saturn Vue XR with 52k miles on it. Over the past view days when slowing down and turning the corner when I accelerate the engine hesitates and then the transmission engages again and it surges forward. Today while driving at 55 on the free way it was like it trans mission was out of gear and I had no power but then I accelerated and it engaged again. On a couple of occasions today also at highway speed the car dropped into a lower gear and the RPMS were erratic for a few seconds.  Any help will be appreciated as I had the vehicle serviced at a local Chevy dealer this week and they changed the transmission fluid and said the car was fine.

This post is a follow-up to my Apr 29th 2016 post. After receiving my vehicle back from the local Chevy dealer and still having the surging of the engine at hwy. speeds and turning the corner when I accelerate the engine hesitates and then the transmission engages again and it surges forward... I took the Saturn to our Knoxville Cadillac dealer. They were outstanding and welcomed the opportunity to determine what the problem was. They contacted me within 24 hrs. and advised they had to tear down the transmission. I was called the next day and advised that the 3.5.r friction plate was fractured and that the GM special service bulletin would replace the part and repair the transmission at NO COST to me. I received my car back in three days and WOW it drives like it is a new vehicle. 2 weeks post repair now and no problems have developed. Thank you Cadillac of Knoxville and GM.
