2008 pontiac vibe. I replaced the battery a few months ago and the alarm (aftermarket) did some weird things...now it's dead again and I can't jump it off. Does this have to do with the alarm system? Can I disable it? Help!!

After market alarms can be very malicious. I used to do road service for AAA. Anytime a vehicle had an aftermarket alarm it was almost always the culprit for the battery problems. What does the car do when you try and jump it? Nothing at all or does it make any noise? Also, certain batteries these days are not good quality such as sears and walmart batteries, I replaced A TON of new batteries from those places within a year of purchase, more than any other brand. I would start by ensuring battery terminals are tight and clean, then testing battery to be sure its not bad and then if that's not the problem I would go to whoever installed alarm. Taking battery out could have triggered something with alarm as it is meant as theft protecton, removing battery may have made alarm think it was an attempt to shut alarm down.
