When driving car will have lose of acceleration

Asked by Dominic Jun 10, 2017 at 09:31 PM about the 2008 Nissan Altima Coupe 3.5 SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The car seems to only do this when it is hot. Car
well drive for a few 100 miles of less and slow
down to a slow creep. Ran a check on the battery
and alternator both check out fine but car will die
and will not start as if battery is dead.

Would get a professional scanner reading for this one. Could be anything from a crank sensor to a fuel related issue. Some somewhat easy things to check are vacuum leaks and inspecting/cleaning throttle body.

Check fuel pump pressure when it happens sounds like it is vapor locking. Look under vehicle making sure the heat shield between the fuel line and exhaust is not missing this would cause vapor locking once vehicle gets hot.
