I just got this car and I had about half way between 1/4 and 1/2 a tank this morning once i
got to work I had a quarter... Its only 14 miles I dont think I should be using that much gas

Easy answer, you will smell gas. If this is the case, do not drive the car but get it towed to a mechanic a.s.a.p. and do not store it in your garage until it is repaired. Clogged fuel injectors can really decrease your mpg.
