Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car came from out of state and my
radio never works, every channel is just
static I don't know if it has something to do
with it coming from out of state or what.

Scan to other stations. If that works, great, hold one button for a station for like 3 seconds (might beep) then release. Repeat for all channels/buttons. If that doesn't work, then your antenna might be broken or unplug from the back of the radio.

I know that this is way out of date and won't matter to the original poster. But most Subarus of that age use an antenna in the back window glass instead of a traditional antenna. To compensate their is a powered signal booster connected to the antenna line. If an inexperienced installer puts in an aftermarket radio and does not connect the "power antenna" line to the radio (because they don't see a power antenna, so who needs that...) the signal booster gets no power and you get crap reception.
