2008 Subaru legacy gt

I have an 08 legacy gt with a bad rod bearing.
(ej255 motor) looking for a new motor I found an
06 legacy gt motor with low miles, (also ej255
motor) will the 06 motor work in the 08 platform?
What are the differences if any?

I believe those are two different versions of the EJ255 so no guarantees. Get the wiring and ECU to go with the engine if you do this swap.
