p0712 2008 highlander v6
P0712 error code on 2008 highlander v6, Shifting from gear one to two not
smooth. How do I identify the sensor and repair code.

Transmission codes are hard to diagnose without the proper knowledge and equipment. A P0712 is related to the Transmission fluid temp sensor. It could be the sensor itself and or the wiring. Working on a transmission today with all the electronics is not a DIY. Have a local trans mechanic or garage look at the vehicle and they can suggest a repair.
