fuel millage with 430 rear end vice 488

I have a 488 rear end in my F-450 4x4, milage ranging from 7.5 towing a 22 foot enclosed trailer to 11.5 not towing. Will my fuel milage increase enough to justify the cost if I install 430 gears in the rear end.
Tks Bob

A little, by the time it takes to change the gears over and pay for them its not even worth it. If its not broke dont fix it.
Iam an HET for an oil company and we have lots of F-350 and 450. Your increased fuel mil. will not justify the exp. On the plus side we have noticed that if you change the fuel filters earlier and watch for water in the air intake, and keep the tailpipe clean! Yes it really matters about the tail pipe! Once you break about 15000 km your milg. will start to increase dramaticaly. The 6.4 really responds well to extra maintenance.
If yer gonna use the truck fer work more then it runnin empty it would be pointless ta change to a higher gear pack you may get better fuel milage when yer runnin empty but lose out when yer loaded so ya have ta ask yer self what will this trucks main job be i own a 08 F450 king ranch with the 488 gears it pulls a load awsome and its always has a trailer on i would not change the gears in my truck
