Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just purchased a used 2008 Acura TL and has it checked
out by mechanic who says car is in good shape at 91,000
miles and only recommendation is timing belt and water
pump for estimated $1,250? Is this normal or high?

It is a fair price if the mechanic who does the work is GOOD and does it RIGHT- that job is normal maintenance, and the water pump SHOULD be replaced when a timing belt is replaced- that is good practice for ANY car that has a timing belt- you can always get a second opinion, but shopping around for lower prices might mean getting a gorilla to do the job- as it is, you are still taking a chance- as are we all- good luck
