2008 Escalade Electrical Issues

Asked by Brion Aug 28, 2024 at 12:41 PM about the 2008 Cadillac Escalade 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Truck started giving multiple error codes and was draining the battery.  Battery
ended up reversing itself.  Ran battery through repair cycle on charger and
correct polarity has been restored.  Issue is the truck without a battery has
reversed polarity.  Am unable to jump the truck with battery connected or
disconnected.  Run jump charger directly to the truck with battery
disconnected and it said truck had reversed polarity.

STOP. you will if you haven't already fry electronics, I highly recommend you tow it to your local GM dealer and have them go through it, it most likely will need the computer systems Flashed to get the programming back to factory settings then they can continue with diagnostics. Then fix it as needed. Not going to be cheap.

I wouldn't put a lot of money into it at 16 years old and having crazy shtuff like that going on . Plus it's G.M.
