2008 Pontiac Torrent Heating Problem

Hi, I am having problem of over heating in 2008 Pontiac Torrent 3.4L. The
problem is when the car stops at red light its temperature sensing needle go
higher side. and some times its cooling fan does not stop event I turned off
the car.  The coolant level go higher side and a heavy pressure built up into
the cooling system. The fluid level goes down when i open the lid of the
cooling tank once the engine is cold. I have changed its thermostat but the
problem still persist.
Please guide me how to fix this problem

I don’t know how to fix this problem but I do know that when I was stuck on the side of the road because of my car, My automotive services sent someone to fix my car for me! Have your cooling fan circuit checked out as well as your coolant level. I would not go to the site that was suggested unless you check them out first. Most national brands of "repair insurance" are well known but I don't recognize this one. Look for a reputable shop in your area and let them help.

The issue does not with cooling fan becuse the the fan only runs once engine heats up and the temperature gauge goes towards higher side then normal.

That is what it is supposed to do. The fan will lower the temperature of the circulating coolant but will not turn on until the sensor tells it that the engine is getting above a set temp.
